I think anyone who's played Colloseum just find Ludicolo annoying more than anything xD
Seriously, what was with Miror B?

That would explain a lot - I never really thought of it like that though
(Granted, I was like 12 the last time I played it >_>)

That'd be awesome - and it'd get people to buy the Wii U

The Wii U has quite a few system sellers and a ton more coming out soon™, I liked Colosseum but I doubt it's the kind of game that can sell systems. A 3D game in a traditional style though? That could sell systems.

Traditional Style? Do you mean like the main series?

Yeah, I guess that would've been a better way to phrase it. I think the main series has much more of an appeal than Colosseum did, not to imply that Colosseum didn't have an appeal. But I disliked how you couldn't really catch wild Pokémon in Colosseum (and I reckon a lot of other people did too), and what we got in XD was alright but still not quite hitting the mark. Maybe if they have a more main series approach with regards to wild Pokémon on top of the Colosseum double battle/snagging system it could move consoles but I (personally) don't think the Colosseum style is a system mover.
But I mean, I haven't done any research into sales of the Gamecube around Colosseum's release so maybe I'm chatting rubbish and it is infact a system selling series, but, at least for me, it wouldn't sell systems.

It sold the Gamecube for me. Hahaha
But yeah, I felt like X and Y represented what Colloseum should have done. The way with diagonal movement and 3D models.

Yeah - I always felt they should include wild Pokémon.
I think XD remedied it a bit by the sheer amount of shadow Pokémon there were, although it didn't really fix it =/
But also, remember that on GameCube it was pretty hard to transfer pokemon (you had to have that weird cable no one had), whereas now it'd likely work like PBR did

What direction would transferring Pokémon be most appealing though? I feel like if you transferred them up you'd end up with a team that would just sweep through the game, and transferring them down doesn't really have much benefit unless the game was mostly comprised of Pokémon not native to X/Y, and then you get into the whole territory of "is it worth it at this point with Pokébank having made almost every Pokémon available in some form by now".
I think they could easily have a winning formula with XD's model + more wild Pokémon available in a more traditional style (as in tall/long/whatever they call it grass on a few routes or areas in-game) as opposed to those 3(?) spots where you could catch a limited number of Pokémon. Make it a large variety of Pokémon (I'll say like, 150ish?), plus a large number of Shadow Pokémon, and between all of those have it possible to essentially complete X/Y's National Dex, along with all updated graphics and stuff (as you'd expect in a 3D game) and it could definitely move a few systems, just out of the sheer convenience of having the rest of your National Dex available through the game, as opposed to Wonder Trading and hoping you get lucky or having a friend send you over like 150 Pokémon to finish it off or whatever.
I don't think online play would be essential because X/Y have it done so well, and I'd worry about potentially diluting the two games ecosystems, but it's obviously a definite possibility. Maybe no random matches against people you don't know through Colosseum 3 so that X/Y can keep that population together. But I guess this isn't really a very big deal either way and it's just me overthinking things with regards to selling games and systems.
